Hosting.com is the hosting business and the group that owns it under a single name: World Host Group renamed itself Hosting.com in 2025, as its owner’s portfolio entry records. The company behind the brand was founded in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2003 as A2 Hosting, was acquired by World Host Group in January 2025 and became hosting.com that April, each announced in a blog post (acquisition, rename); a2hosting.com now redirects to hosting.com. The group’s mergers and acquisitions page presents its other purchases as having joined hosting.com too: FastComet and Rocket.net in 2025, ColombiaHosting in 2024, HostingRaja, Webcentral and Stablepoint in 2023.

The range is shared hosting, managed WordPress, VPS, dedicated servers, reseller accounts, domains and email. Plans are sold monthly, yearly or on a four-year term, with the lowest advertised price on the longest one, and every plan carries a 30-day refund window. Support is staffed around the clock by chat, phone and email from offices in several countries, listed on the about page.

Worth knowing

The price shown depends on the billing term you pick, and the headline figure is the four-year one. Prices load in the browser after the page, so a crawler or a reader with scripts off sees the plan names and not the numbers.

In April 2019, when the company was still A2 Hosting, ransomware encrypted files on its Windows hosting servers, as the company’s archived blog post describes. The company took every Windows shared and VPS service offline, restored from backups, and said that most but not all data had been recovered. The outage ran into its second week, per The Register’s report.
