manitu is a German host from St. Wendel in the Saarland, long-established and with a reputation for plain dealing in German hosting forums. Founded in 1997, it is now a brand of the Dutch group Your.Online.

It owns the building. manitu has run its own data centre in St. Wendel since 2002, on its own hardware with its own staff, and on renewable electricity since February 2008 — a combination almost nobody at shared-hosting prices can claim, and the reason the record carries owns-metal rather than the reseller mark most of its neighbours have.

Four plans, PHP 8.1 to 8.4, MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL, and up to fifty SSH users on an account. The entry tier advertises one euro a month for six months and then €5.03, which is the price recorded here.
