Neocities
Free static site hosting for personal pages, funded by supporters rather than by advertising.
Free static sites, no corporate layer.
The web needs to be more quirky! What a heart means here
Neocities hosts static personal sites, and is the declared successor to GeoCities. The free tier is the product rather than a trial of it; a paid Supporter tier raises the storage and bandwidth allowances and funds the rest. Sites are published by uploading files through the browser or over SFTP, there is an in-browser HTML editor, and a command-line tool and public API cover the same ground for anyone who would rather not click.
The company takes no investment and sells no advertising, and states that it does not sell user data to AI companies.
Worth knowing
Neocities runs static sites only—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. There is no server-side runtime, no databases, and no dynamic backend capability. This is the entire shape of the product.
Support is community-only; no staff support is available on any tier. Custom domains are available as a separate paid add-on rather than included in either tier.
