Free hosting

Somebody else is paying for this.

The free account is the product here, not a free tier under a paid plan or a free trial with a clock on it. Something else pays: ads on the control panel, commission when a site outgrows the account, or supporters. The caps that matter are rarely the advertised ones — requests a day, files on disk and processes at once decide whether a busy site stays up, and a shell is rare. Some of these brands are one wholesaler’s panel and servers under another name.

6 providers give the hosting away as the product rather than as a sample, listed alphabetically. Across 2 countries.

No idea. We list hosts, we don't rate them. Open the records that look close and compare them side by side; the guide says where to start.
