Ownership
Ownership shapes the things a customer eventually meets: how prices move, how long a product line survives, how support is staffed, and what happens after an acquisition. An independent company and a private-equity portfolio company can offer identical plans today and behave very differently in three years. It is a field to apply a preference to, never a recommendation made here — independence guarantees nothing, and being publicly listed is not a criticism, since some of the largest and most reliable providers in the register are listed companies.
