Database as a Service

Plenty of platforms run a database beside the application — which engines is recorded on every record that does. This category is the other arrangement: a company that sells the database on its own, billed by the hour or the cluster, with the application somewhere else entirely. It is the shape that came with serverless, where compute scales to nothing and the data has to persist somewhere that does not. Nothing of a customer’s runs on these, so their runtime and shell rows read as not applicable.

3 records, kept out of the register and out of its count.
