team.blue is a European group assembled by acquisition, holding hosting and domain brands across a dozen countries — Combell, TransIP, Loopia, Papaki, Simply.com, Webempresa and Websupport among them. Nobody buys hosting from team.blue; they buy it from a brand it owns, usually one that was a local company before the acquisition and still trades under its own name. [Hg](/holdings/hg/) backed the 2019 merger that created the group and says in its [announcement of the CPP Investments transaction](https://hgcapital.com/insights/team-blue-welcomes-new-investment-from-cpp) that it remains the largest single investor.
